A Table Transformed

Today I would like to share with you a little DIY project my boyfriend and I undertook the other week. We decided that our dining table was too big for our lounge room so we thought we would cut it down into a cool shape! After some brain storming we decided to do a 'leaves' pattern.

First of all, I drew the shape of the leaves onto the table. My boyfriend then cut it down, sanded it, burnt the little leaf details into it and then coated it with three layers of varnish. The legs of the table were cut down to size also. I think it looks fantastic and it turned out far better than we expected!

Now the table is the perfect size for both of us and looks fantastic! It is a practical two person table while also being a great conversation piece.

We can even watch the television while having dinner like real TV junkies! We still have the old original chairs tho and we haven't come up with any ideas on improving them yet. Ideas are welcome!

Do you have any cool DIY projects happening at your place?

Wow, that is awesome! I'm really impressed with the result!
I'm constantly doing small DIYs, but I've never done something that big.

WOW! I cannot believe you thought of that, and made it yourself. I am so impressed - seriously wow!!

Chairs are SUPER easy to restain and reupholster - I did mine using fabric and a staple gun. Maybe you could find a fun pattern of leaves or green something.

beautiful work - seriously.
